First of all before I start with the sugar skulls I best start with where they originate from.
Day Of The Dead
In Southern Mexico their is a holiday on November 1 & 2 which honours the death of loved ones. Their is a belief that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31st (Halloween) and the spirits of all the deceased can reunite with their families and lovers. Sugar skulls where actual moulds of clay and sugar as the people couldn't afford to create expensive ornament and decorations for their dead ones. 'Sugar skulls represented a departed soul, had the name written on the forehead and was placed on the home ofrenda or gravestone to honour the return of a particular spirit. Sugar skull art reflects the folk art style of big happy smiles, colourful icing and sparkly tin and glittery adornments. - See more at: http://www.mexicansugarskull.com/support/dodhistory.html#sthash.roV0Fahv.dpuf'
The sugar skull has inspired make-up and most people on Halloween love this look. I have found some inspiration from the make-up artists that I follow on Instagram.

I like the head piece on this sugar skull this is something I want to add to my sugar skull something like a Flower Headband, I also like the Jews added around the eyes and onto the face.
I like the studs on this skull look, it gives it that edgy look and the blend on that cheek bone wow! I like the idea of gems onto the lips to look like skeleton teeth. The face isn't too white which I like and then white teeth added.

I love the colours, the use of baby pink which matches the flowered hair band is outstanding. The pastel colours just mix together so well and the different colours of the gems around the eyes is a good idea which I want to incorporate into my sugar skull.
