Elizabethans would add veins to their white make-up to finish it off, this would make their make-up appear more natural and translucent. I thought of using this in one of my designs of adding gold and thought of adding the veins in gold paint to the face somehow. I really like this image with the veins, it makes them look real as they a slightly faded into the skin and gives it a dead look.
